news...

First and foremost - Chad and I are excited to announce that we are finally expecting our first baby sometime in February. We couldn’t be more excited and are so ready to welcome a little one into our lives.

Getting ready to welcome a child of our own has forced me to think about all the jars I’ve currently got my hands in. I am doing photography on top of teaching elementary school full time and attending graduate school. Anyone who is a teacher or who knows a teacher knows that we bring things home with us, we have to. So, with all of that, there’s just no time left to do anything for me or my family.

So, after a lot of thought and prayer, I’ve decided to take a step back from photography for a while. I love it so much, and I will never give it up entirely. However, I have to leave myself enough time to enjoy my life and my growing family. I will continue updating my blog with the pictures I take, they just won’t be of a business nature. I will continue to serve the clients I have already booked and the clients for which I am currently editing pictures.

I would like to thank all of my clients past and present. You have been amazing and I am so thankful you’ve let me into your lives to meet your families and spend time capturing your love for each other. Thanks so much for all your patience and kind words.

I am excited for this scaled back life and I can’t wait to share the results!

gribble family

I got to hang out with the Gribble Family on Saturday morning at the Farmstead in the national park. We had a blast! Little Sawyer was a riot, and boy was he gonna make me work for those smiles :) I went a little crazy, and I edited a few more than I normally do for a sneak peek. I'm sure you won't mind, will you Corina? Thanks so much for spending time with me and my camera guys!

I'm not sure it gets more precious than this...

back from hiding...

So, I went into hiding mode there for a while. I was going through a very intense certification process for teaching that was done at the end of March. Praise the Lord, I made it through it! I apologize to all those clients I had to turn away during that time, but the good news is, I'm back and I'm accepting clients again - wooohooo! I've got a couple of sessions from friends and family stored up to start posting about, so check back often, I have a lot of good stuff in store :) I have a lot of sessions and weddings coming up, so I'll be blogging a lot. I also have a couple of promotions coming up for seniors and family sessions, so make sure you're checking so you can get in on all the fun! I'm so glad to be back :)

sleepy anna

I had the opportunity to visit two-week old baby Anna yesterday. She was soooo sleepy, and it was fantastic! She let me move her little body all over the place :) Her mommy Jennifer was so great about letting me maneuver her child. Here is a quick sneak peek of our session. Congrats Jennifer and Clay - she's beautiful!

justin & whitley

Justin and Whitley had absolutely the most beautiful wedding at McGuire-Millrace Farm in Andrews. Of course, they chose the most rainy weekend ever to get married, but the rain cleared after the ceremony so we could sneak outside and get some great shots of them around the property. They do say rain is good luck for a marriage right? If so, these two are going to be ridiculously happy :) They have be SO patient while I've been working on these pictures, and I wanted to give them one quick little sneak peek. I'm obsessed with this picture right now. I think you can really see how much they love each other. I hope you guys enjoy this quick, very small sneak peek. I can't wait for you to see the rest of them!

well hello baby fever...

I'm a little behind on blogging this, but back in late November I had the pleasure of getting to head over to Tera and Daniel's house to take photos of brand new little Pierson. He at first did not want to cooperate, but his grandma finally got him calmed down enough to get some good pictures. I'm finishing them up right now, but I wanted to post this quick one that I absolutely adore. My baby fever has officially kicked up a huge notch, thanks to this little guy - it really didn't need any nudging at this point though! I hope you guys enjoy this quick little sneak peek :)

Chaffin Family

Yeah, I disappeared for a while there....

School started about two weeks ago, and for the entire week before school starts, I go into teacher mode and the rest of my life pretty much has to shut down in order for me to get ready for the upcoming year. For some reason that is beyond me, we also decided to move that same week! Needless to say, I have literally had NO time until now to sit down and edit pictures. I'm finally hitting it really hard this week. And without further ado, here is some of what I've been working on...

I got to meet up with the Chaffin family back in August, and they were such a fun group! They all met up here in the mountains for a family vacation. I took their pictures on the last day of their trip and we had such a blast! I hope you guys enjoy these. Sorry for such a large share, but ya'll have been so patient in waiting for these that I wanted to put several on here. Enjoy!

Batman and Snow White

I got to visit my friends Jen and Brian's house the other day and take pictures of her adorable kiddos, Abram and Alden. They are such fun kids and I love hanging out with them. They are pretty used to me, so it didn't take long for their goofy sides to come shining through. We set up the background stand in Jen's living room and just let the kids play. I think they had a good time, but I'm not sure if they had as good of a time as Jen and I had watching them :) We got some great funny face pictures and they also dressed up in their halloween costumes. It's not every day that I get to meet such celebrities as Batman and Snow White. Enjoy guys!

Hannah's Bridal Shoot

While I was visiting my mom in Charlotte, I got to meet up with Hannah to take her bridal pictures at Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens. It was quite possibly one of the hottest days in recorded history. Despite the weather, we had such a blast! Hannah is such a fun gal, and she was hamming it up for the camera like she was an old pro. I mean honestly though, if I was as tiny as she is, I would be showing the camera some love too :)

My charger officially bit the dust this week. I am not kidding, I actually made sparks fly out of the thing on more than one occasion, which is just never what you want. So, thanks to my good friend Gianna, whose charger is the same kind my computer uses, I was able to get enough of a charge to open a few images of Hannah to add to my blog.

I hope you like this small sneak peek Hannah. Thanks for being so much fun!

I am so in love with this picture. I love the shape of her dress, I love the parasol, I love the way the sun is shining down on her, and of course I'm absolutely head over heels in love with this arbored walkway.

She jumped into one of the fountains without hesitation (we of course had to wait until the gardner that was following us around had left so we didn't get into trouble). I think her mom thought I was crazy when I asked her if she wanted to do it, but I love it and I'm glad it turned out the way it did.

These were taken in the orchid garden (aka: the hottest and most humid builing on the face of the planet). I love the way the flowers look in these. Is she not just the cutest little thing ever?!?

Carter Family

Last week, I got to meet up with the Carter Family for a photo shoot at Deep Creek. They were on vacation here from Florida. I think it was a little bittersweet for them because their oldest son is getting ready to leave for a two year mission and their second oldest son is leaving for college in the fall. Becky and Fletch have six (that's right, I said six) of of the coolest kids! You could really tell how much all the members of the family loved each other. I love this picture because you can really get a sense of who they are as a family. I had a blast with you guys, and I hope you enjoy your quick little sneak peek!

Elizabeth + Eddie

I couple of weeks ago, I was able to shoot Elizabeth and Eddie's wedding in Stecoah. They have a beautiful house out there and were able to have their adorable garden wedding, right there at home. It was such a wonderful wedding with all their closest family. I was so honored to be a part of their special day! Here are a few quick shots from the wedding. Enjoy guys!
